Recycled Coney Island Ipe Is Put to Good Use

A client in Windsor Terrace wanted the front of the house to have a more modern and clean look. The brick flooring, walls and recycling shed contributed to a heavy and austere feeling. Sourcing out recycled Coney Island ipe for the project was an ideal solution.

Planter boxes were designed and installed. And the recycling shed was given a horizontal cladding. These new elements helped to create a visual balance between stonework and wood. The neutral gray of the aged ipe also added to the overall "softening" effect.

New plants for the space included Ajuga reptans, Cornus sericea (Red Twig Dogwood) and 'PJM' Rhododendron.
