Bamboo Changes Everything For The Better When Properly Sited




An Overwhelming Tribeca Terrace Is Comfortably and Cleanly Toned Down

One of the biggest challenges of this project was breaking down the trees and planter boxes and safely removing them from the site. Carting 100 bags of debris through a client's apartment and the remaining building can be tricky and requires patience and focused attention.

The Buxus 'Green Mountain' hedge and Miscanthus sinensis grasses were chosen for their hardiness, low maintenance and structural integrity.

Brooklyn Tree Pit Becomes A Small Urban Garden

By removing thick, heavy stones from a tree pit and adding a simple border, fresh soil, plants and mulch the small public space is given new life and visual interest. The tree is better off as well since the roots will be better aerated and receive a healthier, more consistent supply of water.

Perennial Carex grasses were chosen for their elegantly flowing structure and hardiness in a shady location.
